The manga “Reset Game” is a suspense story that depicts the human drama of the feelings, conflicts, and true nature of the characters as they go through numerous trials in a locked room with Seiichi, the main character, at the center.
Since its serialization on the manga app “GANMA!” in 2014, the series has been well supported with over 7.8 million readers, and was published as a three-volume book by Tokuma Shoten in 2016. It will also be released as an 18-volume e-book in April 2025.
The live-action film will be produced overseas by U.S.-based company Globalgate Entertainment in partnership with British company Ascendant Fox.
The writer and showrunner will be Simon Allen, whose credits include the Emmy Award-winning “Tehran” on Apple TV+, “Choose or Die” on Netflix, “Das Boot” on Sky and “The Watch” on the BBC, while Motoko Kimura will serve as executive producer.

When I was drawing Reset Game, I always envisioned it as live-action in my head. This was because I had firmly decided to create a live-action film and/or series, inspired by my Manga.
My father worked as a movie theatre illustrator, so film have been a part of my life since childhood. I can’t put into words how surprised and thrilled I was when I found out that Globalgate would be adapting it as live-action.
