”Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?” is a romantic comedy that begins when the main character, a high school boy Kuroki, takes a seat next to a girl, Chihara, who is rumored to be a “landmine-type” girl.
The cute Mai Chihara with her “landmine-type” style and mysterious atmosphere has been a big hit among young readers, with sales of the book(1) exceeding 600,000 copies (printed and electronic editions combined). The manga has also been supported by many readers since the beginning of its serialization, being listed in the “NEXT MANGA AWARDS”, which is a gateway to success for new manga, and the “Have You Read This Manga?”(2)
The anime adaptation will be directed by Yasuaki Fujii (storyboard and direction for “Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie”, storyboard for “Paradox Live: The Animation”), with Keiichiro Ochi as head writer (head writer of “Ninja vs. Gokudo” and “The Quintessential Quintuplets”), character design by Majiro (character design and joint-head animation director for “Macross Delta” and “UniteUp!”). Music will be by Arisa Okehazama (head of music for “The Apothecary Diaries” (joint) and “DIGIMON BEATBREAK”) and the voice cast will include Sayumi Suzushiro as Mai Chihara and Kazuki Ura as Kuroki.
In addition, teaser visuals for the anime, to be titled “Are You a Jirai Girl, Chihara-san?”, are now available on the official website.
COMISMA will continue to pursue further possibilities for manga content through a variety of initiatives, while allowing more people to enjoy the works on GANMA!
